Schlumpf Universal Mandrels set a new standard for quality and function in expanding mandrel designs for roll handling applications. Universal Mandrels are machined from solid aluminum for high strength, and hard coat anodized for durability and corrosion protection. Because of our fail-safe design, the grippers remain in the expanded position at all times until retracted by the operator. Depending on the application, one of our several different gripper profiles ensure secure contact with the core with minimal damage. As the load increases, the grippers continue to expand with ever increasing gripping power. Simply insert the mandrel into the core and lift the roll. Universal Mandrels have standard sizes for 3” and 6” cores which are available from stock. Other mandrels can be supplied for 2” to 16” core sizes.
